I've wanted a dueling tree for a while now. The biggest problem I had, once I finally decided to build one, was coming up with a good plan and finding ideas on how to go about it. There's a few plans out there on different forums, but I figured I'd make a thread about how I did it. And hopefully help someone else if they decide to do the same.
I am getting into dueling tree shoots. Tons of fun. Im shooting a g22. I'm trying to work up some reloads. My question is what grain lead at what speed is best. I thought a plated 155 just for the fact that i lean towards lighter bullets that go faster. Open to anything. Trying to learn.
I'm getting a little tired of shooting paper targets and id like to start shooting some steel. I was wondering if anyone knew any good companies who make and sell dueling trees. I'm looking for a pretty heavy duty one, not those cheap ones for $100 that they sell at midway usa. Where can I find...
Marco (owner) is putting together some simple competition stuff right now, ie, bullet golf, some sort of dueling tree, etc to see what the interest is. He's hosted a class or two already of tac type stuff, so it shouldn't be long before word gets out about the facility. I'll check in w him today, as my daughter interns there for the summer.
I don't care what you call it. Plinking, target practice, range training, or whatever. Growing up B.I. (Before Internet), I read every page of eve
Even with the suppressor sights to help, it still takes me too long to get that initial sight picture. It's great for fast follow-up shots but, in a pinch, it doesn't matter how quick your follow-up should would have been if your initial shot is too late. This is great for dueling tree fun at the range, but not for EDC. [1]
My Joker of a G22, all gilled up and aggressively textured. In 2009, Glock came out with an updated version of their gun that featured better ergonomics named the “Rough Texture Finish, Version 2," or commonly just called RTF2, the topic of which has been a long and well talked about source of debate here among the forum.

I've been shooting both of these, but it's been a while for the 147 and lately I've been shooting the Magtech almost exclusively. I have to say, the Magtech seems pretty good to me. I have a dueling tree with six inch plates and I can knock them around consistently from 40 feet. I'm skeptical, but your test regimen sounds good.
