Lava City Roller Derby, formerly Lava City Roller Dolls, (LCRD) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Bend, Oregon.Founded in 2006, the league currently consists of two mixed teams which compete against teams from other leagues, and an affiliated junior roller derby team for girls and boys aged 10-17.

Bend formed a recreation department and hired its first director in April 1949. Before then, summer youth activities were organized jointly with the local school district. Sites were maintained by the public works department until 1964 when the maintenance and recreation programs combined to form a new Parks and Recreation Department.
Roller derby is a roller skating contact sport played on an oval track by two teams of five skaters. It is played by approximately 1,250 amateur leagues [note 1] worldwide, though it is most popular in the United States. [2] A 60-minute roller derby game, or bout, is a series of two-minute timed jams.
Oaks Park is a small amusement park located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south of downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. Opened in May 1905, it is one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the country.
The league was founded by Brick Wallace and Magic Hips, two skaters with the Emerald City Roller Girls who wanted a league closer to their home town. [2] It played its first home bout in September 2009, against the Lava City Roller Dolls. [3] Sick Town accepted into the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice Program in December 2009. [4]
