Eddie Jerome Vedder (born Edward Louis Severson III; December 23, 1964) is an American singer, musician, and songwriter. He is the lead vocalist, primary lyricist, and one of three guitarists for the rock band Pearl Jam .
The song was triggered by a chord from "Tuolumne", an instrumental from Eddie Vedder's soundtrack for the 2007 film Into the Wild. [ 1 ] It peaked at number six on Billboard ' s Alternative Airplay chart, where it was the band's highest-charting follow-up single since " Wishlist " in 1998. [ 2 ]
