Steven Bruce Dodge (July 12, 1945 – January 17, 2019) was an American telecommunications and media entrepreneur, environmentalist, and philanthropist. He co-founded and was the founder, chairman and CEO of five companies including American Tower, American Radio Systems, American Cablesystems, Windover Development, and Beverly Crossing.
In 2001, American Tower recruited Taiclet for the role of chief operating officer. [3] He was named chief executive officer of American Tower in October 2003 after the departure of Steven B. Dodge, and was selected as chairman in February 2004. [11] He remained as CEO and on the board of American Tower until 2020. [18]
The merger further established American Tower's position as one of the largest tower owners and operators in North America. [7] Between 2007 and 2012, the company expanded internationally with operations in India, Peru, Chile, Colombia, South Africa, Ghana, and Uganda. [8] In 2013, the company acquired Global Tower Partners for $4.8 billion.
