The Ghana Military Academy is the military academy of the Ghana Armed Forces. It offers basic military training to officer cadets from the Ghana Army, Ghana Navy and the Ghana Air Force. [3] The academy is based in Teshie in the Greater Accra Region. Entrance into the Ghana Military Academy is through a rigorous selection process.
The college is a Ministry of Defence Agency that provides Phase 2 training for medical personnel for all three armed forces (Combat Medical Technicians - CMTs and Medical Assistants - MAs), excluding that for medical doctors (from university medical schools). It trains the: Army Medical Services; Royal Navy Medical Service; RAF Medical Services
The college uses various training centres to train specialists. Some of these include; the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the Tamale Teaching Hospital, the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, the 37 Military Hospital, the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, the Accra Psychiatric Hospital and the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital.

The academy accepts approximately 400 students annually. Unlike at the country's other four civilian medical schools, the selection process goes beyond high University Entrance Examination scores. All prospective candidates must be male and must have high enough college matriculation exam scores to enter any civilian medical university.
The Accra Technical University (ATU) was established in 1949 as a Technical School in Ghana and commissioned in 1957 as Accra Technical Institute before being converted into a Polytechnic in 2007 by the Parliament of Ghana. [3] [4] [5] It was later given a university status, becoming Accra Technical University (ATU) in 2016.
