Cascades Course logo. The Homestead features two golf courses. The club is sometimes referred to as Virginia Hot Springs Golf & Tennis Club. The area produced an 82-time winner on the PGA Tour in the late Sam Snead. The Old Course started as a six-hole layout in 1892, and the first tee is the oldest in continuous use in the United States. Born in Ashwood, Virginia, near Hot Springs, Snead began caddying at age seven at The Homestead's Old Course in Hot Springs. He worked as an assistant pro at The Homestead at 17 in 1929, then moved to the Cascades Course and turned professional in 1934. [2]

In 1967 the Antill Park Golf Club was established on the site, with the homestead forming the club house. [1] 2012 was believed to be the 50th anniversary of formation of the Antill Park Golf Club, lease of the present site and club house. The original club occupied part of a private property on both sides of the present Henry Street. [1] [9]
