The Orton Memorial Laboratory is a historic building in the Weinland Park neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Edward Francis Baxter Orton (March 9, 1829 – October 16, 1899) was a United States geologist, and the first president of The Ohio State University. Orton founded The Ohio State University's first academic department, the Department of Geology, and founded the Orton Geological Museum .
