Scottsburg is a city within Vienna Township and the county seat of Scott County, [4] in the U.S. state of Indiana, about 30 miles (48 km) north of Louisville, Kentucky. The population of Scottsburg was 7,345 at the 2020 census.
The Red Caboose Motel (originally named the Red Caboose Lodge) is a 48-room train motel in the Amish country near Ronks, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, [2] where guests stay in railroad cabooses. [3] The motel consists of over three dozen cabooses and other railroad cars, such as dining cars that serve as a restaurant.
Notable buildings include the Federal-style William Houston House (c. 1805), Clawson Hotel (c. 1850–1874), Thomas Sutton House, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Zion Lutheran Church, First United Presbyterian Church, and First Methodist Episcopal Church. The contributing site is Memorial Park, established as a burial ground in the early 19th century.
It was the largest hotel in Indiana until surpassed by the JW Marriott Indianapolis in 2011. The Indianapolis Marriott Downtown features 650 guest rooms and 40,000 square feet (3,700 m 2 ) of meeting/event space spread over 33 rooms.
