Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport (IATA: URC, ICAO: ZWWW) is an international airport serving Ürümqi, the capital of Northwest China‘s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is located in the Diwopu township of Xinshi district , 16 km (9.9 mi) northwest of downtown Ürümqi.

Urumqi Air (simplified Chinese: 乌鲁木齐航空; traditional Chinese: 烏魯木齊航空) is a low-cost airline [1] headquartered in Ürümqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China. It operates scheduled passenger services.
A China Xinjiang Airlines Ilyushin Il-86 at Beijing Capital Airport in 1999. The airline was established as a detachment of the CAAC Xinjiang Regional Authority; [ 2 ] it started operations on 1 January 1985 ( 1985-01-01 ) .

It is located 50 kilometers south of the lake in Burqin County. The airport was constructed in 2006 and opened on 15 August 2007. [2] Until 2019, the airport was only open for flights in the summer. [3] In September 2020, Urumqi Air started flying to Kanas Airport using a Boeing 737-800 with a Kanas lake themed livery and interior. [4] [5]
