Flying Legends is a two-day airshow in England, originally held in July every year. The airshow features only warbird and vintage aircraft, such as the Supermarine Spitfire, North American P-51 Mustang and Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B. It is run by The Fighter Collection, based at Duxford Aerodrome, Cambridgeshire, formerly RAF Duxford.
The 2013 airshow saw the celebration of the event's 20th anniversary. [2] Following the cancellation of the airshows in 2020, 2021 & 2022, the event moved from its long-standing former home at Duxford Aerodrome to RAF Church Fenton in North Yorkshire for July 2023. [4]
RIAT 2021 was scheduled to take place from 16–18 July 2021, and was due to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show. However, it was cancelled for the second year running due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of restrictions on both large crowds and international travel being in place by then.

The airshow is no longer hosted as of 2016, after the Shoreham Airshow crash. [17] On 6 November 2020 flying legends announced its signature airshow, previously held at the IWM Duxford, would now transfer to Sywell Aerodrome. Cancelled in 2020 & 2021 due to COVID, the show was due to take place in 2022 but was subsequently also cancelled, [18]

Spitfire Tr.9 NH341 (G-CICK) was restored by Historic Flying Limited in 2017 Spitfire Tr.9 PV202 (G-CCCA) restored by Historic Flying Limited in 2005 and now operated by Aerial Collective Duxford. The most authentic Mk Ia Spitfire airworthy today, restored to flight by Historic Flying Limited in 2012.
