Bridgnorth Town F.C. was the football club based in Bridgnorth. They joined the Worcestershire Combination in 1938 and twice reached the 5th round of the FA Vase. They won the championship of the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division in 2008. Affiliated to the club was the junior section known as "Bridgnorth Town Juniors".

The club was established in 1969 following a meeting in the Railway pub, and were initially known as Railway Rangers. [1] [2] They joined the Oswestry & District League and were initially managed by a committee. [2] In 1974 the club was renamed Ellesmere Rangers.
Quatford's importance as a crossing of the River Severn was diminished when another bridge was built 2 miles upstream. A settlement was formed at the "bridge north of Quatford", now known as Bridgnorth, which became the major town in the district. North of the village is a mock castle now known as Quatford Castle.
