S&T Daewoo XK8, also known as DAR-21 (Daewoo Assault Rifle-21st Century), [1] is a 5.56×45mm NATO bullpup assault rifle developed and manufactured by S&T Daewoo intended to replace Daewoo Precision Industries K2 assault rifle for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.
A bullpup firearm is one with its firing grip located in front of the breech of the weapon, instead of behind it. [1] This creates a weapon with a shorter overall length for a given barrel length, and one that is often lighter, more compact, concealable, and more maneuverable than a conventionally configured firearm.
The Interdynamics MKR was originally designed using a 4.5×26mm MKR round using solid copper bullets. Its purpose was to provide a flat ballistic trajectory along with armor-piercing capabilities with low recoil for the user to handle, even when fired fully automatically.

TKB-059 (ТКБ-059) was a Soviet three-barrel bullpup assault rifle, capable of fully automatic fire, chambered for the 7.62×39mm round and manufactured by Tula Arms Plant in 1966. It was based on the Device 3B (Прибор 3Б), an earlier experimental assault rifle that also had three barrels. [ 3 ]
TKB-022PM No. 1 (ТКБ-022ПМ № 1), TKB-022PM No. 2 (ТКБ-022ПМ № 2) and TKB-022PM5 No. 1 (ТКБ-022ПМ5 № 1) were Soviet bullpup assault rifles, capable of fully automatic fire, chambered for the 7.62×39mm round (TKB-022PM No. 1 and TKB-022PM No. 2) and the 5.6×39mm round (TKB-022PM5 No. 1), developed by the small arms designer German A. Korobov in the 1960s.
