Annandale: Developed as the racecourse of Shimla, Annandale is 2 km (1.2 mi)–4 km (2.5 mi) from the Ridge at a height of 1,864 m (6,117 ft). It is now used by the Indian Army. The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute located in Shimla, India. It was set up by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 1964 and started functioning from 20 October 1965. [1] It is currently housed in the Rashtrapati Niwas.
