The DTR is an academy-credentialed nutrition practitioner who works independently in many nutrition settings; however, when performing clinical dietetics, they must work under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian. Some states have legislation specifying the scope of practice for the DTR in medical nutrition therapy settings.
Greenville is also located on Illinois Route 127, which is a major north-south route connecting Southern Illinois to Springfield. The National Road passes through Greenville. East of Greenville it follows Illinois Route 140, and west it follows U.S. Route 40. Its route west of town was the source of a historic controversy.
The journal was established in 1952 as the Journal of Clinical Nutrition, edited by S.O. Waife and published by the Nutrition Press. [6] It was continued in series under the present title from 1954 and was published by the American Society for Clinical Nutrition (ASCN). [7] It is now published by the American Society for Nutrition. [8]
It was named for Shadrach Bond, who was then the delegate from the Illinois Territory to the United States Congress, and who thereupon became the first governor of Illinois, serving from 1818 to 1822. [3] The county's primary city, Greenville, had a post office from 1819 and was incorporated as a town in 1855 and as a city in 1872. [3]
