Aqualad is the alias of several superheroes in American comic books published by DC Comics and appearing in media published by DC Entertainment. The character was originally created by writer Robert Bernstein and artist Ramona Fradon , serving as the sidekick and junior counterpart to superhero Aquaman alongside contemporary, Aquagirl .
The first character to use the Aqualad codename, Garth was a full-blooded Atlantean prince from the Idyllist tribe, consisting of pacifists. Atlantean superstitious nature made them believe infant Garth was connected to an evil lineage due to having purple eyes and was cast out, but found by Aquaman.
The show is composed of previously aired adventures featuring the DC Comics superheroes Aquaman (voiced by Marvin Miller) and his sidekick Aqualad (voiced by Jerry Dexter).
