St. Francis de Sales Church (the Oratory of Saint Francis de Sales) is a Roman Catholic Oratory located in south St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It is the second largest church in the Archdiocese of St. Louis after the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis (St. Louis). The church is popularly known as the "Cathedral of South St. Louis".
St. Liborius was established as a German national parish in 1856. [2] The church building is a large Gothic Revival structure covered in red brick. It was designed by New York City architect William Shickel. [3] At one time the central bell tower featured a stone tracery spire. It was removed in the 1960s. [4] The church was completed in 1889.
The parish became known as Immaculate Conception/St. Henry's and was staffed by the Augustinians. The former St. Henry's Church at Rutger and California Streets was destroyed as a result of two fires in the mid 1990s and had to be torn down. [5] The Catholic population in the area declined over the years and the parish was closed in 2005.

Hellrung & Grimm was a St. Louis based furniture store run by the Hellrung and Grimm families. [1] The company sponsored several athletic teams including soccer teams. In 1929, a team, known as Hellrungs , sponsored by the company, entered the city's first division league, the St. Louis Soccer League , playing under that name until 1931.
