Alexander Mikhailovich Ovechkin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Миха́йлович Ове́чкин, IPA: [ɐlʲɪˈksandr ɐˈvʲetɕkʲɪn]; [n 1] born 17 September 1985) is a Russian professional ice hockey left winger and captain of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL).
