Harristown State High School Buildings is a heritage-listed collection of state high school buildings at Harristown State High School at 341–367 South Street, Harristown, Toowoomba, Toowoomba Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built in 1954, Block B. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 19 August 2016. [1]
The need for another high school in the Toowoomba area first became apparent when the other public high school, Toowoomba State High School was full. In 1953 land was acquired for another High School in the Harristown area, and the first building (B Block) was completed in 1954 prior to the school opening in 1955.
Harristown State High School is a government secondary (7–12) school for boys and girls at 341-367 South Street [ 20 ] [ 24 ] In 2017, the school had an enrolment of 1,661 students with 142 teachers (130 full-time equivalent) and 57 non-teaching staff (46 full-time equivalent). [ 22 ]
Toowoomba North State School is a government primary (Prep–6) school for boys and girls on the south-west corner of Mort and Taylor Streets [ 49 ] [ 50 ] It includes a special education program. In 2015, the school had an enrolment of 157 students with 12 teachers (11 full-time equivalent). [ 51 ]

In December 1929, the school building at Perthton was relocated to Goranba to establish Goranba State School on a new five-acre (2.0 ha) site. [ 208 ] [ 209 ] It was located 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) north of the Goranba railway station on the north-east corner of Goranba Lane and Crosbies Road. [ 210 ]
