Kleinmond is a small coastal town in the Overberg region of the Western Cape province, South Africa. Other major towns are Swellendam (pop. 13,557) on the Breede River in the north-east, Caledon (pop. 10,650) in the western interior, and Hermanus (pop. 10,500) on the Atlantic coast. The Overberg district is divided into four local municipalities, which are described in the following table.
Most of the towns in the municipality are on the coast, and due to the proximity to Cape Town many are holiday resorts. The largest town is Hermanus, which is situated on the northern edge of Walker Bay next to the Klein River mouth. As of 2011 Hermanus, which is the site of the municipal headquarters, has a population of 32,769. [5]

The R44 begins in Piketberg at a roundabout junction with the N7 national route and the R365 road.It begins by heading east-south-east as Kerk Street to leave the town. It heads for 24 kilometres to the town of Porterville, where it turns to the south and passes through the town before heading another 35 kilometres, bypassing Saron, to reach the town of Gouda.
The N2 begins in central Cape Town at the northern end of Buitengracht Street , outside the entrance to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
