Bejeweled is a series of tile-matching puzzle video games created by PopCap Games. Bejeweled 2 (also referred as Bejeweled 2 Deluxe in some releases) is a tile-matching puzzle video game developed and published by PopCap Games.Released as a sequel to Bejeweled, Bejeweled 2 introduces new game mechanics, such as Special Gems and extra game modes, along with new visuals and sounds.
The first game, Plants vs. Zombies (2009), was developed and released by PopCap before its acquisition by EA. After PopCap Games's acquisition, EA expanded the game into a franchise with games on many different platforms, including a comic book series written by Paul Tobin and published by Dark Horse Comics. The series has a variety of game genres.
The game features a Hint button that helps the player find a possible match at the cost of points and progress in the flask for each use. The game features five game modes: Classic Chuzzle: Plays with the basic game rules. Locks will occasionally appear and connect to a Chuzzle, preventing the player from moving the row and column the lock is on.
Lex battling Medusa. The player takes on the role of Lex the Bookworm (voiced by the Chief Creative Officer of PopCap, Jason Kapalka) through a number of stages, battling creatures along the way (which are largely based on Greek mythology, One Thousand and One Nights and Gothic fiction, while the foes in the game's sequel are based on fairy tales, Journey to the West and science fiction).
