Luffy learned that the remaining Whitebeard Pirates went missing after suffering an overwhelming defeat by Blackbeard a year ago. Kin'emon plans to go back Wano and help their allies with Law's help to sneak back into the country. Luffy, Nami, Chopper, and Brook decide to set sail to rescue Sanji and take Big Mom's Road Ponegliff.
Luffy discovers the junkyard is named the Gray Terminal. Luffy runs after Ace when he steals the treasure and run into Sabo, a boy who lives there. Luffy discovers the stolen treasure and is tied up. Luffy screams and Porchemy, a member of the Bluejam Pirates, finds them. Luffy, Ace and Sabo escape, but Luffy is captured by Porchemy.
Stussy restrains Lucci and Kaku, neutralizing their powers. As they prepare to leave, Luffy and Chopper search for Vegapunk and Bonney, finding the former missing. Days earlier, on Sphinx Island, Marines invade a village, seeking Whitebeard's treasure, but Weevil intervenes. Weevil's mother tells Marco that Ryokugyu captured Weevil.
Luffy's crew soon arrives in Dressrosa and, entering the tournament under the alias "Lucy", he gets to the final round. Recognizing Luffy, Sabo reminisces about their shared childhood: Sabo and Ace refuse to befriend Luffy, but change their mind after he is kidnapped by a pirate and beaten for refusing to give away the location of their treasure.
Two years have passed since the war at Marineford and Portgas D. Ace and Whitebeard's deaths, and the Straw Hat Pirates have since trained for their return. Monkey D. Luffy departs Ruskaina to the Sabaody Archipelago to reunite with his crew and Roronoa Zoro visits Rayleigh and Shakky in her bar.
