Manx Care was established in April 2021 by the Government of the Isle of Man as an arm's length organisation, established to focus on delivery of health and social care on the Island. This followed a review by Sir Jonathan Michael. The Department of Health and Social Care continues to be responsible for strategy, planning, policy and regulation.
An edition of the Manx New Testament was produced in 1810 which included footnotes. This was reprinted in 1815 and 1824. The Bible Society last printed any of the Manx Bible on paper when it produced the Gospel of John (Noo Ean) in 1936, which was a reproduction of the 1819 edition. This was reprinted in 1968 by the Manx Gaelic Society.

Literature in the Manx language, which shares common linguistic and cultural roots with the Gaelic literature and Pre-Christian Celtic mythology of Ireland and Scotland, is known from at least the early 16th century, when the majority of the population still belonged to the Catholic Church in the Isle of Man.
