  2. Do dragons sleep? | EN World D&D & Tabletop RPG News & Reviews

    www.enworld.org/threads/do-dragons-sleep.146355

Sep 2, 2005. #5. Two points, one for and one against your theory: 1) Dragons have immunity to magic sleep, like elves, which don't sleep, so maybe they dont sleep. 2) If I assume that they DO sleep, it is another problem over whether with their Keen Senses and Blindsight whether or not they are automatically woken by characters that do not use ...

  3. Color Spray vs. Sleep - Giant in the Playground Forums

    forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?628219-Color-Spray-vs-Sleep

Sleep and color spray share an interestingly similar mechanic in 5e, giving you a large pool of hit points you roll to "spend" on those who have fewer than your remaining amount to inflict status conditions on. Color spray has 1 more die and a larger die type (6d10, as opposed to sleep's 5d8), but is self (15-foot-cone) instead of 90 feet (20 ...

  4. D&D 5E Can Sleep spell stack? - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/can-sleep-spell-stack.404584

    2. Sleep puts creatures unconscious. 3. Sleep does not effect unconscious creatures (or already asleep from previous actions) The amount of total HP affected per 20ft from point of origin remains the same per cast but not simultaneously. Additional amount of HP affected can only be done when you cast it in a higher level slot (+1d8 for each slot).

  5. Using Sleep against constructs - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/using-sleep-against-constructs.240831

Explorer. Sep 12, 2008. #3. Just being a construct does not render you immune to anything, except against spells/effects that specifically target living creatures (unless you're a living construct). Not needing to breathe or sleep does not make you immune to magical sleep, or magical drowning for that matter.

  6. D&D 5E sleep vs tasha's laughter - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/sleep-vs-tashas-laughter.679179

Blue said: At 6th level, sleep cast with a 1st level isn't going to cut it, Tasha's scales natively a bit better. Even sleep with a 2nd level slot likely isn't going to help much with the foes you are facing. Not in my experience. At 6th level sleep might be ineffective at the start of combat, but after an enemy is whittled down it can be very ...

  7. Monks and sleep/meditation - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/monks-and-sleep-meditation.309216

Jul 27, 2011. #5. 8 hours meditation = 8 hours rest for a monk (probally not anyone else) other wise you have 16 hours a day of inactive charracter, which would be no fun at all, worse then the 15 minute adventuring day i feel. there is also that or in there between rest and meditation, meaning you could just rest to get the pool back, assuming ...

  8. D&D 5E Sleep spell overpowered? - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/sleep-spell-overpowered.473592

So I'm kinda new to 5e and I am about to DM my first game (via FantasyGrounds). I've got 5 PCs, one of which is a Wizard with the Sleep spell. According to all of the encounter difficult calculators I can find, 4 Kobolds will be Easy for this group and 5-7 will be medium difficult. But...

  9. Do sleeping characters get saving throws? - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/do-sleeping-characters-get-saving-throws.21707

Aug 22, 2002. #3. Sleeping characters are helpless (see the condition summary section of the DMG), so their Dexterity is treated as if it were 0. Aside from that, and the resulting change of their Dex modifier to reflex saves to -5, I know of no other factors affecting a sleeping character's saving throws.

  10. Sleepless Races? - Giant in the Playground Forums

    forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?244193-Sleepless-Races

You don't need to sleep, but you can't do anything else for those 8 hours. A warlock, on the other hand, can Imbue Item at level 12. Also, looking at the class description and the SRD for SLAs, it doesn't seem they need rest to continously use them. Avatar of Rudisplork Avatar of PC-dom and Slayer of the Internet.

  11. D&D 5E Is the sleep spell d&d 5e too powerful - EN World

    www.enworld.org/threads/is-the-sleep-spell-d-d-5e-too-powerful.667934

Proof sleep is too powerful. Form a group of 4 players (fighter, rogue, priest, wizard), all of which level 1. 5E is not balanced for PVP. Low-level spells are intended to be used by PCs against monsters. Furthermore, while sleep is a potent weapon against very weak foes, its effectiveness degrades rapidly against more powerful enemies.
