Dita is less childish in the manga. The only Vandread unit featured is the Dita-Type Vandread, and it is permanently fused. Meia acts as captain of the Nirvana. Hibiki and Dita's relationship progresses at a much quicker pace, and in a more obvious fashion. Hibiki calls the mejeras by their names and Dita calls him by his name and not Mr. Alien.
