Findlay Mall (Formerly known as Findlay Village Mall) is an enclosed shopping mall in Findlay, Ohio. Opened in 1962, it features Dunham's Sports, Stock + Field, and Best Buy as its anchor stores. It is owned by Kohan Retail Investment Group.
Between 1978 and 1985, the company added five new stores in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. In 1989, Howard Levin became president following the death of his father Leonard. In 1992, the company expanded its operations into the Cleveland, Ohio market. [2] Shortly after, Robert Levin became president of the company.
In 1983, he purchased the mattress manufacturer Stearns & Foster. [1] In 1924, Ohio Mattress had purchased a local license to make Sealy-branded mattresses in Cleveland and soon acquired other regional licenses in Boston, Houston, and Puerto Rico but was blocked by Sealy and its other franchisees from acquiring more. [1]
The first American Freight store was founded by Steve Belford in Lima, Ohio in 1994 as American Freight Furniture & Mattress. [21] By 2014, the company was operating 95 stores in 18 states, and October that year was acquired by an affiliate of private equity firm The Jordan Company of New York. [22]

Mattress Barn was a chain of mattress stores located only in Florida. On August 29, 2014, it was announced that Mattress Firm would acquire all of the remaining Mattress Barn locations. [ 34 ] In September 2016, all of the remaining stores converted into Mattress Firm.
