Varnette Patricia Honeywood (December 27, 1950 – September 12, 2010) was an American painter, writer, and businesswoman whose paintings and collages depicting African-American life hung on walls in interior settings for The Cosby Show after Camille and Bill Cosby had seen her art and started collecting some of her works.
William T. Williams was born on July 17, 1942, in Cross Creek, North Carolina, United States. [3] [4] [5] Williams is African American. [6]His family moved to Queens, New York City at age 4, but he spent his childhood summers in Spring Lake, North Carolina.
Whitfield Lovell (born October 2, 1959) is a contemporary African-American artist who is known primarily for his drawings of African-American individuals from the first half of the 20th century. Lovell creates these drawings in pencil, oil stick, or charcoal on paper, wood, or directly on walls.

Nellie Mae Rowe (July 4, 1900 – October 18, 1982) [1] was an African-American artist from Fayette County, Georgia.Although she is best known today for her colorful works on paper, Rowe worked across mediums, creating drawings, collages, altered photographs, hand-sewn dolls, home installations and sculptural environments.
Samuel Joseph Brown Jr. (1907–1994) was a watercolorist, printmaker, and educator. He was the first African American artist hired to produce work for the Public Works of Art Project, a precursor to the Work Progress Administration's Federal Art Project.
