Thomas & Friends (formerly known as Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends) is a children's media franchise created by Britt Allcroft and currently owned by Mattel.The franchise revolves around an ensemble cast of anthropomorphic steam locomotives and other vehicles, including the titular protagonist Thomas the Tank Engine, who work on the Island of Sodor.
Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway (1992–2017, 2022–), later rebranded as Thomas & Friends Wood (2017–2021), is a wooden railway system designed and created by Learning Curve. It is one of two Wooden Railway lines that feature the characters from Thomas & Friends. The other is BRIO.
A little blue 0-6-0 tank engine who works on the Island of Sodor on the North Western Railway. He initially worked as the station pilot at Knapford. After helping to rescue James from an accident, Thomas was rewarded by being permanently assigned to the Ffarquhar branch line with his two coaches, Annie and Clarabel.
