Ximen (Chinese: 西門, formerly transliterated as Hsimen Station until 2003) is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by Taipei Metro. [3] The station is named after the former west gate of the city, whose location is roughly where the current station is located.
The station was formerly served by a shuttle service between Ximen and CKS Memorial Hall. Platform 1 and 2 would switch service every 6 months under that operation. Upon the opening of the Xinyi Line in November 2013, the shuttle was extended south to Taipower Building.
The 51.33 km (31.89 mi) line, from Taipei Main Station to Laojie River, has 22 stations and began commercial service on 2 March 2017. The line features Commuter and Express services as well as in-town check-in and baggage check at Taipei Main Station [4] and at New Taipei Industrial Park. [5]
