The Glasgow University Athletic Club was founded on 20 April 1881 and its constitution approved by the Senate ten days later. Its founding aim was to "promote all forms of Athletic Exercise", an aim which continues to this day. In 1903, a women's section was established at Queen Margaret College, the women's section of the University.

Bob Wren Stadium is a baseball stadium located in Athens, Ohio on the campus of Ohio University. It is home field for the Ohio Bobcats since opening on April 18, 1998 and Southern Ohio Copperheads since 2002. [1] The Bobcats opened the facility by defeating the Bowling Green Falcons 4–1 in front of 1,389 fans.

Glasgow University Basketball Club is the basketball club representing students and staff at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.The club, founded in 1947, is affiliated with Glasgow University Sports Association and competes in British Universities and Colleges Sport and (until the 2024-25 season) the Scottish Basketball Championship competitions.
Browning was born in Glasgow in 1914. He attended Kelvinside Academy in that city. He entered the Humanities department of Glasgow University in 1931, graduating in 1935. As Snell Exhibitioner at Balliol College, Oxford, he acquired first class degrees in Mods and Greats as well as several prizes (Nowlands, Ireland, Craven, Ferguson, De Paravicini, and Jenkyns).
