As of the 2020 United States census , the township's population was 8,637, [ 9 ] [ 10 ] an increase of 588 (+7.3%) from the 2010 census count of 8,049, [ 19 ] [ 20 ] which in turn reflected an increase of 365 (+4.8%) from the 7,684 counted in the 2000 census .
