Squire Creek Country Club, a Tom Fazio-designed championship course that opened in 2002, is the home of Louisiana Tech golf. Golf Digest ranked Squire Creek as one of the top five private golf courses in the United States in 2004 and as the No. 1 golf course in Louisiana in 2019. La Tech hosts the annual Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs college basketball team competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I, representing Louisiana Tech University in Conference USA. Louisiana Tech has played its home games at the Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston, Louisiana since its opening in 1982.

The 1989–90 Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters basketball team represented Louisiana Tech University during the 1989–90 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The team was led by fifth–year head coach Leon Barmore , who led the team to a 32–1 record, the NCAA tournament , and the program's fourth straight Final Four. [ 1 ]
