Negro Fort was a short-lived fortification built by the British in 1814, during the War of 1812, in a remote part of what was at the time Spanish Florida.It was intended to support a never-realized British attack on the U.S. via its southwest border, [1] by means of which they could "free all these Southern Countries [states] from the Yoke of the Americans".

Fort McAllister State Park is a 1,725 acres (698 ha) Georgia state park located near Keller and Richmond Hill in south Bryan County, Georgia and on the south bank of the Ogeechee River (some parts of the park border the Atlantic Ocean). It is roughly ten miles south of Savannah.
The park was founded by school teacher Mary Grice of Mobile, Alabama. [3] In 1976, the park was established as a private not-for-profit foundation. The goal was to preserve and redevelop the area. In 1981, the Alabama Legislature named Blakeley a state park and created a separate state authority to oversee operations. [3]
