Christine (titled onscreen as John Carpenter's Christine) is a 1983 American supernatural horror film co-scored and directed by John Carpenter and starring Keith Gordon, John Stockwell, Alexandra Paul, Robert Prosky and Harry Dean Stanton. The film also features supporting performances from Roberts Blossom and Kelly Preston.
Her first role was in the independent Canadian horror film American Nightmare (filmed in 1980 but released in 1983), followed by the television film Paper Dolls (1982). Paul then landed a leading role in John Carpenter's horror film Christine (1983), opposite Keith Gordon, followed by a supporting role in the comedy Just the Way You Are (1984).
Psychologist Jon Porter learns that his mother has just mysteriously fallen to her death. Jon and his teenage daughter Michelle return to Jon's hometown of Glenrock for his mother's funeral.
Christine is a horror novel by American writer Stephen King, published in 1983. It tells the story of a car (a 1958 Plymouth Fury ) apparently possessed by malevolent supernatural forces. In April 2013, PS Publishing released Christine in a limited 30th Anniversary Edition.
