Graham Redgrave-Rust was born in Hertfordshire, England in 1942. He studied drawing and painting at the Regent Street Art School, the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London and the National Academy of Art in New York. [1] For two years he worked as an artist on Architectural Forum for Time Inc.
Zhostovo painting is a handicraft of painting on metal trays, preliminary coated with layers of priming and oil varnish (usually, black). Painting is done in a few consecutive energetic and firm strokes with a soft brush and oil paints, richly diluted with linseed oil. The most widely used motif is mixed garden and wild flowers.
Several decades later, the painting appeared in a 1953 exhibition tour at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Mayo Hill Galleries in Florida. It has been included in touring exhibitions in 1961, 1965, 1980, 2004, 2008, and in 2013, appearing throughout the United States, [ 17 ] Canada, Ireland, and Spain. [ 8 ]
