The Personality and Preference Inventory (PAPI) is a personality test that is used to determine a person's personality traits in the workplace. The questionnaire was designed to reveal a person's behaviours and preferences that may affect their suitability for various vocations or specific vacant positions. [ 1 ]
The test was developed in 1927 by psychologist Edward Kellog Strong Jr. to help people exiting the military find suitable jobs. [8] It was revised later by Jo-Ida Hansen and David P. Campbell. The modern version of 2004 is based on the Holland Codes typology of psychologist John L. Holland. [8]
It provides information from which inferences about personality can be made, but it is not a personality test in the conventional sense.
