Not on trail, but in a trail town during a section hike in CT/MA the weather turned bad and my buddy and I headed into Great Barrington and got a room at a cheap motel (can't remember the name). At one point in the night I wake up to see that someone has opened the window and is sticking their head into the room.

2022 SOBO, trail name Aquaman-He is a total beast. Started at the end of December, currently in PA. 2022 NOBO trail name Uturn-Currently in NC 2022 NOBO trail name Tapeworm-Currently near VA. He is completing a Triple Crown (I think). Also he's going past Katahdin to Canada and then back to the PCT to do a SOBO thru.
For the trail I use Guthook/Farout as well as Alltrails and Gaia GPS Pro. If you plan on staying in more that just hostels in towns I have AirBnB, Hotwire, Hopper, and kayak apps. For weather I have the paid version of RadarScope and Wunderground.
