So many other great movies are being mentioned that might be more Christmassy (Elf is probably the most Christmassy movie I have ever seen), but It's A Wonderful Life is near-perfect when it comes to actual filmmaking and writing. It's such a work of art. I think, for that reason, it's perhaps the greatest Christmas movie of all time.

Omg we've watched "mickey and Minnie wish upon a Christmas" a million times this last week (kiddo was sick) there's also a stop-motion-animated-esque mickey Xmas movie and series of like 5-10 min videos on Disney plus. He seemed somewhat into "Arthur's perfect Christmas" and "Rugrats a Christmas experience".

The Christmas movies have been discussed a lot. But what have been some of your favorite non-Christmas movies that have premiered on Hallmark this year? Some of mine: A Second Chance at Love (yes to the mini-ER reunion!), A Splash of Love, Caribbean Summer and Groundswell.

Klaus on Netflix has very quickly become one of my all time favourite Christmas movies. The animation is excellent and messages are very sweet and moving. Very different to most Christmas movies. I also love Arthur Christmas, although I don't know how underrated that is.

  8. The Normalizing of Horrible Christmas Movies Must Be Stopped

Time travel exists in the Netflix Christmas Cinematic Universe as established in Knight Before Christmas. My theory is that in the inevitable Knight Before Christmas 2, that Vanessa Hudgens will time travel to Sir Cole's time and sire the line of Vanessa Hudgens lookalikes that populate the other movies.

Came here looking for an answer, it would appear not. There is no 'filter' for Holiday or Christmas movies. I created mine from keyword searches: Christmas, Santa, Elf etc. Then add all the famous movies and see what recommendations are beneath each like It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th St. People have holidays Plex.. feature request?..

  10. Looking to round out my watchlist this month with some new christmas movies, but i truly am scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of options, and am looking for recommendations. I have gone through all of your typical “Home Alone”s and “Polar Express”s and am looking for some more underground, offbeat movies.

  11. Seriously, what happened to Christmas movies? : r/Letterboxd -...

I would argue The Holdovers is more of a Christmas movie than 99% of Christmas movies. It really hones in on the selflessness that we don’t have enough of 11 months of the year. I think it captures the actual meaning and feelings of Christmas FAR better than “Christmas Spirit!!!!!” bullshit like Elf or The Year Without a Santa Claus.
