This is a very common problem, where the printer manufactures do not accommodate Windows in S Mode, and most people do need to switch out of S Mode because it is too restrictive, really there is no problem in switching out of S Mode, provided you only ever download software for official websites, your PC will still be 100% secure.
So this means, I believe, the printer manufacturers have to adhere to some uSoft printer driver protocol, and that uSoft 11 has the drivers the manufacturers have to design to. Hence allowing you or me to download a much-needed printer driver is not allowed (cuz printer drivers are BAD).
But when i switched to Windows 10, instead of the Epson Print Preferences showing up, it opens up the Windows 10 Print Preferences. In my opinion, the Epson Print Preferences have a very wide range of options to chose from and it is easier to print in the way I want to.
The Epson Printer Correction Checker is a life saver, has always been able to fix the problem sofar. Windows Diag not. Epson Printer Correction Checker always reports the same problem with a print spooler/Printer Queue problem but is able to correct the problem. I didn't have this issue with Windows 10.

I have windows 11, I recently bought an Epson printer and I've been looking for printer preferences, but it doesn't show. My printer did not come with a driver, so I don't know what to do in order for me to get the option without the driver. I watched tons of videos; I only got 2 options when I try.
Epson V600 works with Microsoft scan for documents but can't scan slides or negatives. Epson scan or epson scan2 doesn't work, neither does Vuescan. Epson service centre suggested it was an old defective scanner not worth repairing so now I have two V600 which don't work. This seems to be a windows issue. Surely someone can sort this out!
I use a Surface Pro X operating WIndows 10 Professional. After last weeks update the Epson Printer I use stopped working and I could not reload the printer driver. I received a message the driver was not compatible with the version of windows I was using. I had not changed anything only let the automatic download install on 11 August.
