Obviously it needs no introduction. Marlboro is and has been the worlds most popular cigarette. Even people who don't smoke know what marb reds are. If you were to ask for just "A pack of smokes" chances are you'd be given these. The packaging. Easily a 10/10. It's classic. Recognized world wide on the level of McDonalds and Jesus Christ himself.
Marlboro Reds have a much bolder scent when you first open the pack. Maybe my Camels were stale, but when I first opened them, I didn't get that punchy aroma when I did with the Reds. Depending on your preference you might like either one better, but I like a less sweet cigarette. Smoking and Nicotine Buzz: The Camels seem to pack down a bit ...
Not too expensive, tobacco quality is pretty good, they're strong. If I could get American cigarettes easily I would probably smoke Marlboro. Reds have too much of a throat hit for me personally, but I enjoy Gold's. Marlboro Smooth Menthol 100's are the best cigarettes I've ever had though.
Now, I just bought a pack of Marlboro Reds, and damn, they feel stronger compared to the Lucky Strikes. The smoke of the reds is much stronger and the flavor is more solid, it tastes more like "cigarette". It was kind of a strong cigarette so I was kind of surprised since I didnt expect it.
There are so many horrifyingly toxic ADDED chemicals in them, it’s criminal. I smoked Marlboro reds for years, then switched to Marlboro Lights for many years. After smoking American Spirits toward the end of my store-bought cigarette days, when reduced to bumming a Marlboro I realized how nasty they tasted in comparison.
My question is if the old school Marlboro Mediums still exist. My friend in college smoked them and they were a great middle ground between Marlboro Reds and Marlboro Lights/Golds. I smoked them here and there before I started liking Marlboros, but eventually the law passed that renamed lights/ultralights to colors.
Yes they are very good, full of the rich, smooth taste of North Carolina tobacco, God's purest herb. But more importantly, smoking them is cool and hot!
The American rock stars smoked Marlboro's, but the British ones kept to B&H (e.g. Oasis' Liam Gallagher who called his cats 'Benson' and the other 'Hedges'). It's all personal preference at the the day!
Some disappeared completely. Like all brands with Turkish tobacco. They enforced maximum levels of tar, carbon monoxide etc. Even the classic Marlboro got reduced to the allowed levels. An American Marlboro has an output of 17mg tar per cigarette. The EU max. level is 10mg. So an EU Marlboro is more like a US Marlboro Light. I'm rolling my own.
Besides the obvious difference in length, are there any other major differences between the two? I tried Marlboro Red (shorts) as my first cigarette and it was pretty strong (probably goes without saying since it was my first). I wanted to try the 100s at some point because the shorts burned quicker than I would have liked.
