I got real tired real fast lugging firewood down the basement steps in a roomy Home Depot shopping tote. I always put more splits in it than I should have. So they'd bang against my shins going down the stairs. We're just talking shoulder fires here, not 24-7. This just wasn't gonna work. I took...

Hi everyone, just want to do an update. We took everyones advice and went and got some firewood from home depot, we also got a box of enviro logs. We started the fire with the envirolog and added a couple pieces of the Home Depot firewood. This wood seemed to burn a lot better and I was able to get the stove in the burn zone.

HF one says + or - 2 % so does that mean a 4% rating for accuracy. "3 percent accuracy" is plus or minus. 3% of 20% is 0.6 so a reading of 19.4 to 20.6% would be within the 3% rating. HF's claim would read from 19.6 to 20.4%. Assuming either one is correct on their claims, they are both well within any reasonable need.

That is exactly what I was thinking. In my area firewood is becoming expensive. A few years ago, fir firewood was going for $170 a cord. Now it selling for $250 to $275. Hardwood is $375. Even though cutting and splitting all this firewood took much effort, the value of the wood is about $3000 to $3200.

The home has natural gas, so the c350 will just be for supplemental heat. I'm hoping the first winter goes well and the wife is impressed enough to let me go at it a little more seriously next year. With that in mind I'm wondering if anyone in the northern NJ area can recommend me a firewood supplier that can deliver wood that will be well ...

Googling it - I came up with many sites claiming it is the "Best Firewood in the World" - for various reasons. One site even commented that it can be burned "green off the stump, like Ash." And it leaves a clean white ash. India apparently plants large stands of it, just for use as firewood. You can Google it if interested.
