Nothing's Shocking is the debut studio album by American rock band Jane's Addiction, released on August 23, 1988 through Warner Bros. Records. Nothing's Shocking was well received by critics and peaked at number 103 on the Billboard 200 .
In January 1988, Jane's Addiction went into the studio to record its major label debut and follow-up to Jane's Addiction, Nothing's Shocking. Warner Bros. gave Jane's Addiction a list of producers to choose from, and the group chose Dave Jerden. [17] Nothing's Shocking was released in 1988.
Jane's Addiction was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band is composed of Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar), Eric Avery (bass) and Stephen Perkins (drums). After breaking up in 1991, Jane's Addiction briefly toured in 1997, reunited in 2001 and then parted ways in 2004.
"Jane Says" and "Pigs in Zen" were rerecorded for Nothing's Shocking, the band's major label debut. "Whores" and "Chip Away" were rerecorded in 2009 by the reunited Jane's Addiction for the NINJA EP, a collaboration with Nine Inch Nails to promote the joint NINJA tour.
