It has been described as a "masterpiece" [ 1 ] and among the finest examples of Easter Island sculpture. [ 2 ]

There the marae is the unpaved plaza before the ahu. The biggest ahu is 220 m (720 ft) and holds 15 statues, some of which are 9 m (30 ft) high.
