Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, formerly known as the Historic Atlantic City Convention Hall, is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey.Built during 1926–1929, it was Atlantic City's primary convention center until the opening of the new Atlantic City Convention Center in 1997.
In 1977, Whelan took a job in the Atlantic City School District.During this time - on a volunteer basis - he helped coach the Atlantic City High School swim team. In 1978, to draw publicity for a bid to restore the Around the Island Swim [2] (a 22.5 mile open-water swimming race around Absecon Island), Whelan did the race solo.
The Boardwalk Hall Auditorium Organ, also known as the Midmer-Losh and the Poseidon, is the pipe organ in the Main Auditorium of the landmark Boardwalk Hall (formerly known as Convention Hall) in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
