Nurul Islam Babul (Bengali: নুরুল ইসলাম বাবুল; 3 May 1946 – 13 July 2020) was a Bangladeshi business magnate. He was the founder and chairman of the business conglomerate Jamuna Group .
The Jamuna Group was established in the 1970s by Nurul Islam Babul, who was an architect by training. He died on 13 July 2020 after being affected by COVID-19 in Dhaka. [4] Besides founding the Jamuna Group and building the Jamuna Future Park, Babul was also the owner of the Bangla daily Jugantor and the television channel Jamuna TV. [5] [6] [7]
It is owned by the Jamuna Group, and was founded by the company's founder and former chairman Nurul Islam Babul in 2014. [4] The channel's headquarters are located in the Jamuna Future Park Complex at Progoti Shoroni in Baridhara. On YouTube, Jamuna Television is the second most subscribed Bangladeshi YouTube channel after Somoy TV. [5] [6]
