Tarahara (तरहरा) is a town in Sunsari District of Nepal. It is located on Koshi Highway between Itahari and Dharan. Tarahara has two Municipality itahari-19 and Itahari-20 which comes under Itahari sub- metropolitan.
According to the 2011 Nepal census, the population was 753,328. [1] The district headquarters is located in Inaruwa. The area was originally part of Morang District but became its own district in 1962 when Nepal was divided into 14 zones and 75 districts.
