Bamfield is a community that is surrounded by Crown Land, First Nation Lands belonging to the Huu-ay-aht Nations, and portions of the Pacific Rim National Park, located on Barkley Sound, Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The community, with a population of 179 as of 2016, [1] is divided by Bamfield Inlet.
Street View in Canada began on October 7, 2009. On this day, Street View was made available for several large Canadian cities, as well as Banff National Park and Whistler, British Columbia (one of the sites from the 2010 Winter Olympics). [1] This was after long anticipation of the feature in the country.
It runs along two former sections of Highway 19 on Vancouver Island, within Nanaimo and between Craig's Crossing and Campbell River. The section of Highway 19A between Craig's Crossing and Campbell River is 136.89 km (85.06 mi) long, and the Nanaimo alignment covers 10.64 km (6.61 mi). [ 1 ]
Highway 19's northern end is located at the Bear Cove ferry terminal, across the bay from Port Hardy. The highway proceeds southwest from the ferry dock for 5 km (3.1 mi) to a junction with the main road to the centre of Port Hardy, then turns southeast, travelling for 16 km (9.9 mi) to Highway 30, and then further east for 20 km (12 mi) to the main road to Port McNeill.

[17] The Cowichan Valley Trail, part of the Trans Canada Trail was completed in 2017. The trail goes through Paldi on the route of a former railway. [18]
