Eurocard is an IEEE standard format for printed circuit board (PCB) cards that can be plugged together into a standard chassis which, in turn, can be mounted in a 19-inch rack. The chassis consists of a series of slotted card guides on the top and bottom, into which the cards are slid so they stand on end, like books on a shelf.

The case is also part of the system to control electromagnetic interference radiated by the computer and protects internal parts from electrostatic discharge. Large tower cases provide space for multiple disk drives or other peripherals and usually stand on the floor, while desktop cases provide less expansion room. All-in-one style designs ...
Sound card Mozart 16 for ISA-16 bus A Turtle Beach sound card for PCI bus Echo Digital Audio's Indigo IO – PCMCIA card-bit 96 kHz stereo in/out sound card A VIA Technologies Envy sound card for PC, 5.1 channel for PCI slot. Sound cards for IBM PC–compatible computers were very uncommon until 1988.
NEC's home computers (e.g. PC-88, PC-98) also used DE-9 connectors for game controllers, depending on the sound card used. The Fairchild Channel F System II [21] and Bally Astrocade [22] use DE-9 connectors for their detachable joystick as well. Both are incompatible with the Atari connector.
Board to board connectors – e.g. card-edge connectors or FPGA mezzanine connectors; Twist-on wire connectors (e.g. wire nuts) – used in low-voltage power circuits for wires up to about 10 AWG; Wire wrapping – used in older circuit boards
