Colonial Williamsburg Geddy House The Geddy House , also known as the James Geddy House , [ 1 ] was built by James Geddy Jr. ca. 1762. [ 2 ] One of the oldest houses in Virginia and in Williamsburg , [ 3 ] it is located on the Palace Green across from Bruton Parish Church .
During the American Civil War, the home was owned by the Peachy Family, and was used as a hospital for Union and Confederate troops wounded during the Battle of Williamsburg on May 5, 1862. [5] The building was restored by Colonial Williamsburg 1938–1940. The original east wing, in poor condition, was torn down and a reconstruction built.

The Wythe House is a historic house on the Palace Green in Colonial Williamsburg, in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. Built in the 1750s, it was the home of George Wythe, signer of the Declaration of Independence and father of American jurisprudence. The Governor's Palace in Williamsburg, Virginia, was the official residence of the royal governors of the Colony of Virginia.It was also a home for two of Virginia's post-colonial governors, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson, until the capital was moved to Richmond in 1780, and with it the governor's residence.
Remarkably, "the Tucker House" (as the family calls it) remained a private residence in the midst of Colonial Williamsburg until the early 1990s. Once in the hands of Colonial Williamsburg, mechanical and electrical systems were brought up to date including a bathroom constructed in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
