Trivia is information and data that are considered to be of little value. Modern usage of the term trivia dates to the 1960s, when college students introduced question-and-answer contests to their universities.
Some trivia is important to only some of the subjects; much trivia appearing on Wikipedia is of this variety. The second example above is of this type. It is important to the topic of the "Mecha-Streisand" episode to mention Robert Smith's appearance: It is an important element of the plot, and a celebrity voice appearance also.
Wikitrivia is a trivia browser game created by Tom J. Watson, which gained popularity in January 2022. Players are presented with a timeline and a card with a subject and a type of date (such as "Bosporan Kingdom" and "created"), and must put the event in the correct place in the timeline (between other cards).
