Lake of the Woods is a natural lake near the crest of the Cascade Range in the Fremont–Winema National Forest in southern Oregon in the United States. The lake covers 1,146 acres (4.64 km 2). It was named by Oliver C. Applegate in 1870. Today, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife manages the lake's fishery.

[1] It is located on the east shore of the lake of the same name within the Winema National Forest, about a mile south of Oregon Route 140. [2] The lake was named by Oliver C. Applegate in 1870, while he was building a road around its perimeter. [3]
Pinewood Lake and its facilities are the center of a private recreational community with no public access. In addition to the lake, Pinewood Lake Association maintains a clubhouse, several boat racks, two dams, a common access beach and several access parcels interspersed between houses that border the lake.
